Good Tidings.
Well this week I had the pleasure to do a week long division with the traveling assistants. It is a new program that the mission is doing and our district had the pleasure of being the firsts to participate. It was an amazing experience! I learned so much and we had a lot of amazing experiences.
One Tuesday afternoon I had the idea to go and visit an inactive member that I had never met before that lives in my area. On arriving you could see the excitement in his face. We asked him to tell us his life story in the church and he began in the year 1983 when he was baptized. A few years later he contracted a disease in the blood that requires painful shots every few days and he was suffering with this disease. He decided to go and get his patriarchal blessing. In the blessing he was promised that he would be an instrument in the hands of our Father In Heaven bringing souls unto Christ, and the second thing was that he would no longer suffer the effects of that disease. From that day forward the disease left his body and didn’t bother him anymore. The person that gave him that blessing was President James E. Faust. How cool is that! He said that he will be at church this week so I am excited to see him there.
The second awesome story is about W. We did a contact in the street with him and during the contact he was already ready to be born again through baptism and begin a new life in Christ. He is very excited about the church. He has 17 years, (Rachel don’t get any ideas), and he is loving seminary and the Young Men’s activities. His baptism will be on the 8th of November. I am way excited for him! I am definitely starting to see the blessings of being obedient to all the rules. My comp was even obedient this week, (probably because there were assistants there), but I intend to keep him in line even if I do have to "Chinese ant torture" him.
Well....If you are wondering. Next week I make a year on the mission! Here in one year you will all be seeing my beautiful face again! I sure hope that made you trunky because it sure didn’t make me.
I sure do love all of you and thank you all for the support that you give me here on the mission! Lets keep it up! Just 12 more fast Sundays of it!
Elder Johnson.
